Hello, thanks for stopping by.

This year I had planned to explore the world but I need a little motivation. So I have set myself the challenge to Run, Hike, Bike, and Ski the Himalayas. There might be a lake swim and certainly some Yoga in the mix.

The aim is to hit as many countries and states that make up the Himalayan range over six short months. [Update] It was too short I have extended it to a year as work got in the way.  

The challenge started on the 9th Sep 2013 in Nepal with a small 50k bikeride. In Feb I avoided the avalanches and skied Gulmarg and fell deep into powder. In March we white water rafted above Rishikesh and scrambled the mountain face. 

Now I am training for a half marathon or if I chicken out a 5K in Nanital. I am charting my training on runkeeper.

To keep me motivated I hope to raise money for children and their education. I have picked Save the Children as they are based in the UK with a strong setup in India. Also they have a number of campaigns working to help the children of the Himalayan Indian state Uttarakhand after their recent horrible disaster.
