Story

Colin Robertson and I ran the Great North Run on Sunday 7 September to fundraise for CAFOD.   It was my 9th and Colin’s 8th GNR. We both beat our target of under 2 hours, the first time for both of us, by finishing in 1hr 56 minutes. We even overtook a camel near the finish line!  The training has gone well this year and we have had some great running partners. The weather was ideal and we managed to run together during the race which was really good. We have had great support from our parish at SS John Fisher & Thomas More, Burley in Wharfedale, and also from families and friends.  We chose to run for CAFOD again as there is so much need in the world and want to be able help others less fortunate than us.
