Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi all, I pushed myself beyond my physical limits to run as many miles as I possibly could in 1 week for Guide Dogs starting Monday 8th October - Sunday 14th October whilst also still working full time training these amazing life changers.
I managed to run an incredible 200 miles in 1 week which included 2 back to back 40 mile runs over the weekend. It took a great deal of pain, grit and determination to complete this challenge. My goodness it wasn’t easy, every step I took my legs were screaming. It really was a case of mind over matter, concentrating on putting one step in front of the other.
When things got tough everyone’s comments of support and encouragement kept me going. This challenge, the struggles and the pain ends tomorrow for me but for so many blind and visually people there struggles don’t go away. The loss of confidence, lack of independence not to mention the daily struggles of living with a visual impairment last a lifetime. I work for Guide Dogs as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor and have met so many inspirational guide dog owners and have seen first hand the amazing difference these dogs make to there lives.
Guide dogs give people there independence and freedom back as well as being a great companion and best friend. Please help to support more guide dog partnerships by donating to Guide Dogs. A massive thank you from the bottom of my heart to all that have donated so far.
