Hi everyone, we are JJ, Jake and Sophie, thank you for taking the time out to come to our fundraising page! 

They say it is in our nature to find our limits, and go beyond it. It is partly with this spirit we have wholeheartedly and perhaps rather foolishly enrolled onto the great London Marathon this April. 

They also say it is in our nature to assist those in need, to help them overcome life’s challenges and in turn expand our own spirit. Ann Frank once said 'No one has ever become poor by giving'. It is partly with this spirit we'd like to bring to your attention the wonderful and selfless work by L'Arche - an international charity which creates and operates 147 communities where people with and without learning disabilities share life together, living and working in their local area. 

We fundamentally believe people of all abilities can contribute to our society. For L’Arche, having people with and without learning disabilities living and working together is the best way to bring the best out of everybody. We had the fortune of visiting a L’Arche community recently and it is one of those rare places where a simple visit restores one’s belief in humanity. Not only is it a place where people of learning disabilities become a responsible contributing member of society, everyone else are equally transformed by the experience. This symbiotic relationship goes far beyond the conventional carer-caree into one where both parties are elevated to a higher state of being. It is truly an inspiring and fulfilling place to be. 

Please give generously to help L’Arche continue their mission to provide communities where people of all abilities can grow and achieve their full potential together. £10,000 will fund the life of 23 residents of L'Arche Kolkata for a whole year. What is more, every pound given to L'Arche will be matched by a private donation to the New Entrepreneurs Foundation.
