Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 23rd July 2017 I will be doing the London Triathlon for the Haemochromatosis Society, a brilliant charity which has helped provide support to my fiancee who was diagnosed last year.
Haemochromatosis is a genetic disorder which causes those affected to absorb too much iron. Having too much iron means that it is deposited in the organs in the body, leading to serious complications including liver and heart damage, joint damage and mental health problems. Unfortunately there is no cure and people with this disease must make radical diet and lifestyle changes alongside having fortnightly blood removal.
Despite being a relatively common condition, little is known about Haemochromatosis and sadly it is often diagnosed very late. The Haemochromatosis Society funds vital research into the condition and helps to raise awareness to ensure early diagnosis.
Please donate whatever you can, to not only motivate me round the 1500m swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run, but also to help this wonderful charity continue to help thousands of people. Thank you!
