Story

Lewis Tommy Connett is our little bundle of joy who has a massive mountain to climb over the coming years having been born with Aperts Syndrome and a cleft palate.

For those who are not aware Aperts Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that nobody quite understands how or why it occurs and approximately 98% of new cases are new mutant genes. This one gene is like having 1 misspelt word in a book of 18million words and has caused Lewis's cranial bones to fuse early and prevent full development of his mid-facial section, both hands and feet.

This came as a massive shock for both Donna, I and our families but in the early days we made contact with the charity 'Headlines Craniofacial Support Group' who were fantastic in their support and advice. This was such an emotional difficult time but they helped to guide us towards the right Supra Regional Cranial Centre at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

To show support of this charity and to give something back to them, in my madness of entering my Fortieth year shortly, the gauntlet was thrown down and my good friends - Andre Stolarski, Stephen Scholey, Nick Grice and Chris Johnson have embarked on our winter training campaign to complete the Clitheroe Pool Triathlon in April 2014. The event is 400mtrs swim followed by an 18 mile road cycle followed by a 4.2mile cross country run!

Thank you in advance for all donations!!!.
