We provide specialist care and support to help those with a life-limiting illness

Story

It all started a few years ago when Johanna and I did a car boot sale at Winwick with lots of items that members of Carlsberg donated for the St.Roccos Fund.  We raised about £300 there but still had a lot of items left so I took them home and put them in my shed.  A few months later I decided to do a garage sale in my two sheds so I printed off a few hundred fliers and had them delivered local to where I live.  The Saturday arrived and it was raining and only about three people turned up, mainly to bring me some items to sell, not to buy.  Then on Sunday it rained again and only another three people turned up so if it wasn't for my family and immediate neighbours and friends, I would not have sold anything, so raised £25.  This did not put me off, my daughter told me about some selling and buying sites on Facebook in the Warrington area, so I joined one called What's for sale for Toddlers and children in Warrington.  I was selling items very quickly so decided to put more on the site, and I got banned. lol  -  this was due to putting individual items for sale on site instead of in albums and for bumping up (this is when you bump your advert up to the top again)  I then started to put in albums so that I could still sell on the site, but still got banned so decided to find another site to sell on.  I have been on this site now for nearly two years and it is called Baby and kids items for sale in Warrington where I put children items on, and I joined another site to sell adult clothes and household items, this is called Whats for sale just for the mums and Dads in Warrington.  These two sites have helped me to raise £350 in 2013 for St.Roccos and £200 for Alder Hey Cleft Palate and this year I was aiming for £100 per month, and have managed to raise £1200 for St.Roccos and £200 for Alder Hey.  People on these two sites have gotten to know me very well and they too donate items for me to sell, one lady even sent me a cheque for £50 to give to the charities as she was so impressed with my efforts.  My lounge, little bedroom and attic are full of items to sell so here's hoping that 2015 will be a good selling year too.
