Story

As many of you will know, I will be 60 years old in November and I wanted to do something to mark the occasion.  Taking up running wasn't an option, and after considering various ideas, it seemed like a parachute jump was the thing to do!  On 01 August I will be jumping out of a small plane from a great height - I'm not good with either heights, flying or small planes so this will definitely be a challenge for me.

I am raising money for 2 charities that are very close to me and my family.  The first is My New Hair (http://www.mynewhair.org/AboutMyNewHair/TrevorSorbie.aspx).  Our daughter Louise was diagnosed with alopecia when she was 19 years old.  Alopecia is an auto immune condition which results in the loss of hair, eyebrows and eyelashes.  The loss of hair can be devastating and alopecia is not fussy in who it attacks; women, men and children.  Louise has dealt with this condition so positively and with a great sense of humour - no bad hair days! We are so proud of you, Lou.

Trevor Sorbie MBE set up a hair loss charity called My New Hair to help both alopecia sufferers and cancer patients who lose their hair as a result of their treatment.  Trevor offers both synthetic and real hair which he cuts and styles for you in his Brighton or London salons.  He gives you the VIP treatment and pays for your first New Hair.

The second charity is Movember (http://uk.movember.com).  Our son-in-law, Lance, was diagnosed with testicular cancer as a teenager.  Luckily it was found and treated very early and after 5 years he was given the all clear.  We now have 2 beautiful grandchildren and are very proud of how Lance got through such a difficult time in his life.

So guys, I would love to raise as much money as possible for these 2 brilliant charities which mean so much to me and my family.  Please dig deep and donate whatever you can.

Thank you so much and I hope the parachute opens!

Lizzy xx
