We support young people fighting cancer to live their best life

Story

Sadie France (now Rance) is a member of the Royal Russell family. We share lots of happy memories of her time here; popular with peers and the staff, she continues to light up any room she enters.   Being told she had stage four ovarian cancer could have devastated her, but despite all the adversity she faces, her smile and bravery shines on, inspiring us all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Olp6rOzu724&feature=youtu.be

Every day, seven young people will be told they have cancer and they need someone to turn to, something to make life fun again and the support of others who understand what they’re going through.  Royal Russell school has adopted the charity that has meant so much to Sadie, Teens Unite Against Cancer, and your kind donations will help support young people aged 13-24, with cancer and other life limiting illnesses. It is the only charity in the country that provides help for teens following their release from hospital or their remission classification. They want to build a large purpose-built respite home in the South East of England which will be open all year round to teens and their families from across the country to stay when they are in need of a respite break.

Over the course of this academic year, Royal Russell has committed to completing a massive challenge based around the London Loop, a pathway of 152 miles around London, passing right past our school.  A huge variety of 152 themed events have been planned, culminating in an exciting Grande Finale weekend.   Whether we are running, cycling, swimming, zipping, slipping, singing, baking, making, walking, talking, acting, reading, we are doing this as teens uniting to fight cancer, for Sadie and for all other young people.  Your donations and support are truly appreciated: thank you.
