Story

On Good Friday - 25th March 2016 - we will be undertaking the second London to Margate bike ride.

We had such a good time last year, we hope you will join us for even more fun this year!

We will not ask for any sponsorship targets. All we ask is that riders donate £25 on this page to Body & Soul.

Body & Soul promotes the respect, dignity and wellbeing of families living with and affected by HIV.

Dear Lovely cyclists,

Just two days to go until we put on our padded shorts (if you're that way inclined), jump on our bikes and cycle from London to Margate.
We will meet at Maze Hill mainline station at 08:30 aiming to leave at 09:00.
The route we are taking is very similar to last year. We will join the Thames path near Charlton then we’ll ride along the Thames and through the beautiful Kent countryside finishing in marvellous Margate. The route will be marked out as it was last year by arrows marked on the road, but it would be helpful if you have a look on a map before we leave and bring a phone with you in case you get lost!
There will be four scheduled stops throughout the day, where a support vehicle will be providing refreshments.
1st stop – Gravesend Cyclopark, The Tollgate, Wrotham Rd, Gravesend, Kent DA11 7NP
2nd stop – Sittingbourne McDonalds, Mill Way, Sittingbourne, ME10 2XD
3rd stop – The Sportsman, Faversham Road, Seasalter, Whitstable CT5 4BP
4th stop – The King Ethelbert Inn at Reculver, CT6 6SU
Finish – The Turner Gallery, Margate, CT9 1HG

When we arrive at Margate we invite you all to our house in Trinity Square for some food, drink and celebrations (and to use the shower). There is also the 11th annual Thanet Beer Festival in Margate’s Winter Gardens that evening for those who fancy it: http://www.thanet-camra.org.uk/
We ask that everyone comes prepared with appropriate weather wear, inner tube, tyre lever, pump, lights, helmet, snacks and drinks.
There will be support vehicles with space to put your bags and to assist should you need help.
Thank you to everyone who has signed up on the JustGiving page. To all those who haven't, it's not too late! Please donate £25 towww.justgiving.com/londontomargate to sign up. All the money raised goes to Body & Soul (www.bodyandsoulcharity.org).
It is not a requirement to raise sponsorship but should anyone want to sponsor you for this ride please direct them to this page.
I am really excited about the ride and seeing you all on Good Friday. Good luck with the last two weeks training!

Holly and Brian xx
