£2750............ Sounds like an odd amount to raise for charity, why not just round it up?? It's a number I have chosen as significant to me, as I was twenty seven and a half years old when I was given my final all clear from Cancer.
Through lots of help, support and treatment from medical professionals and volunteers I got through a pretty tough time, and have gone on to have a second chance in life, but some people sadly are not as lucky. Cancer has taken away many important people in my life, and will sadly continue to do so for many of us.
I was 'an adult' at the time of my treatment and it was the single most hard thing I've ever been through, so I can't even imagine how difficult it must be for children to go through the same treatment. A combination of that, and having decided to spend my career working with children means that choosing The Teenage Cancer Trust to fundraise for was a no brainer for me.
It's going to be a difficult challenge - 5 days trekking in the Sahara Desert, but one that I'm up for! We, as a team have ten months to prepare for this and are massively motivated to work hard and make as much as we can for this brilliant organisation!
Thanks for your help and support with this, to be able to give back to a charity that's helped so many means a lot to me.
