Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Troy, I am 12 years old and a competing figure skater and train 6 days a week. During the summer holidays in 2014 I have to take a break from skating because my dad has set me a challenge to raise funds for serving and past members of the Parachute regiment.
My Granddad passed away before I was born but my dad always tells me stories of how proud he was to be a Para so dad has made up the "Maroon and Tartan" challenge so we can raise money for the Parachute regiment charity. Everything in the challenge will be themed on the Parachute regiment and dad says that it will be a challenge for him too.
We will start at Glasgow and finish at Culloden battlefield after 200 miles cross country. Along the way I will have to climb the highest mountain in the UK Ben Nevis and cross a narrow ridge called the "Carn mor dearg arête". I also have to cross Loch Ness without a boat but dad will be there to help me learn how to do that.
Plenty of other challenges will be mixed in as we will be sleeping, cooking and eating like a soldier has to. And worst of all NO SWEETS FOR A WEEK.
Please donate and support our challenge. We can update this page as we take the challenge where signals allow us to.
Thank you for looking
