Story
Huge numbers of animals are injured or killed ‘in the name of sport’. Many of these, such as grouse and pheasants, are shot and this is still legal. But there are many ways in which animals are hurt illegally in the name of sport. As an animal welfare charity, the League Against Cruel Sports does everything they can to ensure that animals do not suffer for the sake of sport. Their motto sums up how they do it: Investigate, Educate, Protect.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a bird on a plane! To say I'm terrified of heights is an understatement. I can't climb a stepladder without proclaiming that I'm going to die. So doing a wingwalk may possibly finish me off (can a person actually die of fright? We may find out!). But I choose to terrify myself because I have that choice, unlike the countless number of animals terrified, hurt and killed each year at the hands of so-called 'sportspeople', who couldn't be any further from the definition of 'sporting' in their actions.
I have received such amazingly generous support in previous years, and I'm hoping that again together we can raise a good sum for a charity that is so effective. Every donation up to the first £500 will be DOUBLED by match-funding.
Thank you for your support, whether it's pennies or pounds, or just encouragement (I'm going to need it). Every donation will do good work to protect animals. xxx
