About me My name is Maryam Minahs, I'm 23 years old and work for Complete Coherence in Romsey, Hampshire. I love my job and my wonderful friends. On 06 September this year I am planning to cycle a whopping 54 miles from London to Brighton, to raise money for Plan UK.
About PlanAfter signing up for London-Brighton I deliberated for ages about what charity I should cycle for. In my research I came across Plan UK and was touched by the huge amount of work they do for children all around the world. I was particularly moved by their
because I am a girl campaign working to end child marriage, free girls from violence, and provide them with an education. Such incredible work has already been achieved by this campaign - having helped 58 million girls - and I wanted to be a small part of it. Please do take a look at Plan UK's website for full details about how incredible this charity is. Go to www.plan-uk.org.
I am actually also raising money for the Southampton General Hospital Neuro ward where my friend's daughter was placed after suffering severe brain damage. My friend and her daughter's strength throughout this time inspired me a lot and continues to do so. Please do take a look at this page as well.

About me cyclingAlthough, like most people, I learnt to cycle when I younger, I only started cycling regularly about 4 years ago when walking was taking way too long. Before training I had only cycled a mere 8 miles so the thought of 54 miles is absolutely terrifying. In fact I have never pushed myself to do any exercise in excess before! Also, people who know me will understand that I can be very clumsy and I have already flown over my handle bars twice within 3 months - thankfully no major injuries. With all of this in mind, I am going to need all the support I can get to ensure I cycle the whole 54 miles and stay firmly on my bike seat, so please please please could you donate and help me make it over that all important finish line.
