We use tag rugby as an engagement vehicle to run positive social impact programmes

Story

The Tag Rugby Trust has been hard at work in Zimbabwe since 2011, and in just a few years, there has been some incredible progress. Being well established in Harare, Bulawayo and Marondera, the next step is to spread the programme to other areas so that we can improve the lives of even more children and young people.

That is why this July, a team of volunteers will be heading out to the Matobo Hills for the first ever tour!

You can see where Matobo is here: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Matobo,+Zimbabwe&hl=en&ll=-20.560796,28.509521&spn=10.397649,8.360596&sll=51.528642,-0.101599&sspn=0.864618,1.045074&t=m&z=7&iwloc=A

Our group of volunteers on this tour are Tony Cornell, Alex Morris, Mike Breen, Alex Calamaro, Alice Burton, Dan Whitehead, Fraser Price and Tate Oulton.

Any donations that you make will be massively appreciated and will enable this first tour to set an outstanding benchmark in Matobo and lay a firm foundation for the TRT to build on in the years to come.

Since 2002, the Tag Rugby Trust has worked in 8 countries around the world. Post Covid, our focus is very much in Zimbabwe. We use rugby as a vehicle to “Build Futures” through social outreach programmes in the community. Sustainability and local ownership are central pillars to our approach.
