Story

This is Kitty... She is 7 years old and is the most beautiful, affectionate little girl who finds fun in everything!

In March 2016, Kitty was diagnosed with Rubinstein Taybi
Syndrome (RTS -
http://rtsuk.org/ ) which only occurs in 1 in 150,000  births. This means she has learning difficulties which affect her communication, behaviour and social skills.

Only months later, Kitty was also diagnosed with Childhood Leukaemia - 1 in 1800 children are diagnosed annually  (https://bloodwise.org.uk/
) I cannot do the maths, but that’s a pretty tough hand to be dealt.

She has been receiving treatment for more than a year and is making good progress but she still has long way to go. Throughout her life Kitty has been an inspiration to us all.

She faced her most difficult days with great determination and always has a big smile on her face.

This time next week I will be cycling 100 miles as part of the Prudential Ride London event and would like to raise some money for Kitty’s chosen charity RTS. This is a very small charity so every £ , $ or Euro will help :-)

About the charity

We are a small national charity supporting families affected by RTS, a rare chromosome disorder, the main features of which are a learning disability and a high incidence of various physical and behavioural problems. We are entirely dependent on donations and all funds directly benefit families.
