Our daughter, Millie, was born on 6th May 2008. 

After a very rough start to life including 2 weeks in neonatal ICU, we took home what we thought was our perfect baby girl. For the next few weeks we carried on as any parents of a new born would but then came the bombshell. On Friday 13th June we were called to a meeting at the hospital. The results of an MRI confirmed brain damage.

Now at this point you expect to be flooded with help, support, advice, leaflets, books, specialists......the list goes on but we received nothing. This was pretty much the pattern for things as we went forward.

At about 18 months into this journey we made aware of Rainbow House. Not knowing what to expect we scheduled a visit. It was clear to see from that very first moment that the staff had a real passion for what they did and an unshakable belief in the childrens potential.

Millie has attended Conductive Education at Rainbow House ever since and it has been the only constant therapy in her life since her first session. Not only has Millie benefited but we, as her parents, have also benefitted from talking to other in a similar position to ourselves. 

We try and fundraise every year for Millie's therapy but this year we have decided to try and help other parents find the funds to maintain this vital service. 

Being a Special Needs parent is a tough job but add the pressure of fundraising on top of that and the task becomes even harder.

Please spare whatever you can to help Millie's friends continue to receive Conductive Education at Rainbow House so they can learn all the day to day skills we all take for granted.
