As many of you will know we try to do whatever we can to raise funds for this invaluable charity which in many ways is a lifeline to help parents come to terms and understand their child's deafness. The support and services they provide along with the newly diagnosed weekends, meeting other families going through the same experiences are something that has been a crucial benefit in coming to terms with deafness. 

This charity is especially close to our hearts as many people will know Maddie's hearing loss was picked up at newborn screening and within a matter of weeks we was told that she had a profound hearing loss. An invisible disability that at the time was very difficult to come to terms with.

The NDCS was our first life line that helped us on our journey to ensure that our child would have the same opportunities as everyone else.

The VISION is a world without barriers for every deaf child.

The MISSION is to overcome the social and educational barriers that hold deaf children back.

The VALUES are to help families give the best possible support to their deaf child every step of the way.

The BELIEFS :-

Deaf children can do anything other children can do, given the right support from the start.

Effective language and communication skills lie at the heart of deaf children and young people's social, emotional and intellectual development.

Deaf children should be valued by society and have the same opportunities as any other child.

We are proud to say that Maddie is now 16 years old, has enrolled at college and is excited to start the next chapter of her life.  I'm sure she  will still face challenging times ahead throughout her life but knowing that help and support from this charity is still available to her whenever she needs it is paramount.

Simon Magee and Jonny Moyers are aiming to cycle 1000 miles between them through the course of September with a target of £1000. We fully understand these are difficult times for everyone but hope you can support us in anyway you can.
