Story
Just over six years ago, I became seriously ill. After nearly 8 months of being a complete medical mystery, I was diagnosed with stage 4B Hodgkins Lymphoma. I went through 6 months of chemotherapy, and was lucky to end up in remission. The hospital I was treated at was fortunate enough to have a dedicated Lymphoma Nurse who provided me with a great deal of useful information published by the Lymphoma Association. That information was extremely useful for myself, my fiance and my family. They also provide dedicated support groups and telephone support for people suffering from Lymphoma.
I've done several things to raise money for the Association (including a spondored head shave when I started chemo), but I always said that when I got my all clear after five years I would do something big to raise money for them. Ever since I first visited Japan back in 2005 I've always wanted to climb Mount Fuji, and that seemed like a fitting challenge!
So, this summer, myself, my wonderful fiance Jen, my best mate Lisa, Rich, Jo and Andy will journey to the land of the rising sun and trek up Mount Fuji, from the Kawaguchiko 5th station, all the way to the top. We've started training for it already, but its going to be an interesting trip!
Please donate so that the Lymphoma Association can carry on with their excellent work! As an added incentive, I'll send a postcard to anyone who donates at least £25 from the post box at the top of the mountain if you want one (make sure you leave your email address so I can get in touch to get your postal address).
