There have a been a few times over the years when I’ve been effected by mental health issues. Notably one of the biggest changes I went through was becoming a Mum to Percy. I was lucky that everything went well with the birth and Percy is a truly beautiful little man.
However, I did need some support in getting myself back on the straight and narrow. After a bit of a knock back after the birth, I felt I needed some support to help me get things back into perspective. Having gone through a course of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) in the past, I knew it was the best way (along with keeping up with my art) that I could make myself feel more like me again.
Self Help were brilliant and after a 6 week therapy session, I had coping mechanisms in place to try and manage the anxiety I was feeling. Self Help offer a wide range of services as well as CBT. It’s great to know there is something out there to help you see the light when you’re in a dark place.
