Story
Over the next two weeks, we will be raising money for Lothian Autistic Society, through the My 2.6 Challenge. Each day, either Tim or myself will be running 2.6 miles and Grace will be shooting 26 netball hoops, starting Monday 20th April 2020.
Lothian Autistic Society offers support to countless families with autistic kids and young adults in the Edinburgh area. We have been lucky enough to be at the receiving end of this support over the last year through LAS' Basecamp 2 for Girls, which is essentially Guides for autistic girls. As a result of LAS, Grace has made new friends, learned new skills and gained a new-found confidence and ownership of her autistic identity. Without your support, charities like LAS will struggle in the coming months and may have to reduce the support that they offer, worse still, they may have to stop operating.
Please, please, please give as little (or as much) as you can.
Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.
