Story
Some may say I am having a mid life crisis, others that I am nuts. Race to the stones and running an ultra marathon has been a bucket list item for me. I have never gone beyond 26 KM running so why not go even further and just run 100 KM straight. Well that's the plan this July. And for good measure and get myself going I have signed up for the Bath Half too.
For those who know me, yes I run, but right now with 2 kids, work and on the other side of 40, I am not exactly in the peak of fitness. I plod around the fields and do the odd 10K, but I am not what I used to be.
I am not aiming to come in 1st or even get a podium position. Simply get from Oxford to Swindon over the ridgeway (one of the oldest roads in the UK) in about 24 hours.
I am hoping to raise £3,969.82. This is a magic number representing the total distance I will be racing in feet (with decimal moved). My company, OJO Solutions, will also be match giving to my total so I am hoping with your kind generosity I am hoping to smash this total.
Why Wiltshire Air Ambulance?
I have been involved in the charity for over 2 years now. Last year I jumped out of a plane for them. They provide essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) across Wiltshire, they are fully by people like you and me. They get no direct funds from government or national lottery and need £3.75M to keep on flying.
Please sponsor what you can. Every little really does help and your sponsorship will keep me moving through my training and keep my legs moving when I am tired and delirious during the over night sections of my run.
Together let's make a difference.
