Hertford College Oxford has a progressive entrance policy, pioneered by my former tutor, the late Dr Neil Tanner.  The college has a proud history of accepting students from state schools who may not have had access to the best teachers or facilities, but whose talents and abilities have been apparent at interview.

By giving access to Oxford for these individuals, their future lives have been transformed and they have the opportunity to achieve their potential. The benefits to them, their communities, and the country may be difficult to measure but are undoubtedly profound.

I'm riding to raise money to help Hertford fund the continuation of this far-sighted egalitarian policy.
