We fund life changing research to change the future of spinal cord injury

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am taking part in this years London Marathon as part of a team of 16 people who are doing it in memory of Dan James. We are all trying to raise as much as we can for Spinal Injury Research. There will be a specific project funded by what we raise in Dan's name.

March 12th will be the 2nd anniversary of Dans' tragic injury and that is when we are launching our fundraising efforts with a Breakfast meeting at Worcester Rugby Club. There will be some amazing speakers and hopefully lots of press!

When I personally heard of Dans injury I was devastated. I have Known Dan and his family for many years through my involvement as physio for Worcester Rugby and later ,I hope ,as a friend. His injury is one that as a rugby physio you wish never to encounter and for it to happen to someone you know is just awful. I have to admit that I just did not know what to do or say. I sent Dan a soap stone with the word HOPE engraved upon it. My dearest wish is that taking part in this event and raising as much money as possible will give others who suffer this injury the hope that Dan did not feel he had.
