Hi everyone....to say I'm overwhelmed is an understatement!! I would like to thank each and every one of you for ur sponsorship from the bottom of my heart! ❤ My cousin Lisa and I have been training hard over the last few months and now the run is upon us....feeling nervous and emotional but excited at the same time...I'm sure my boy will be beside me on sunday and give me the strength to see it through...ALDlife is a small charity but with continued support such as this it will continue to grow and hopefully one day a cure will be found and our poor boys will no longer have to suffer....thanku once again love u all xxxxxxxx

I have set up this just giving page as i am looking for sponsers as i am attempting The Great North Run in september this year!!!! Yes...me...running...a half marathon 13.2miles in aid of ALDlife a charity close to my heart. I have 3 sons who suffer with ALD one of whom sadly passed away 26/04/12 aged 12 years.

ALD is a soul destroying condition affecting the brain and central nervous system, prognosis is short, relentless in its speed, i witnessed my son callum deteriate from a healthy active 6 yr old and within 6 months he'd lost the ability to walk, talk and see, he had to be tube fed and required around the clock care. Horrific as it was for him and soul destroying for me as his mummy, his smile never faultered, he gained the nickname "smiler" . I will love and miss his cheeky character and infectious giggle forever and always....

THERE IS NO KNOWN CURE, for this genetic condition and NO government funding for research!!

ALDlife is a charity supporting affected families and funding many research and trial programs around the world in hope that one day a cure will be found for our boys, but it relies souly on donations and fund raising events such as this.

So im calling on all my buddies and anyone else that would like to get behind me and support a very worthy cause, any amount of sponsership would be fantastic, i know times are hard and i understand not everyone can spare anything but even if its just £1, when all put together the pot will grow....please help me make a difference and try to help the poor boys still suffering...
