Story
For my Captain Tom 100 Challenge, I'm challenging myself to find and photograph 100 smiles over the weekend of Friday 30 April - Monday 3 May*! Friends, family, colleagues, people involved with or members of A Mile in Her Shoes... so if I can raise £1 for every smile I raise, that's £100 for the charity and 'A Smile in Her Shoes'.
A Mile in Her Shoes promotes running, fitness and being active as a way to support physical and mental wellbeing for women who've experienced homelessness. But helping people to feel good about themselves is what's always been at its heart, and so this 'A Smile in Her Shoes' challenge aims to remind us of just that!
If you can donate just £1, I'll share a collage of smiles at the end of the #CaptainTom100Challenge!
(*that would've been Captain Tom's 101st birthday)
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. At a time when vulnerable members of society need them most, charities have had to cut services, furlough staff and some have even shut down. Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. I will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom my way and help my chosen charity.
