Story
“Night Without Lights” is a student-led initiative, founded to raise awareness about energy poverty in parts of Africa where nearly 548 million people are having their days cut due to lack of electricity. The funds we raise will provide clean, safe, and affordable solar lights to transform lives in rural communities. All you have to do is switch off your lights on 13th March for as little as one hour to experience what a night is like without reliable lighting.
Our goal is to raise 7000 SGD and it will allow us to fund 942 solar lights, help SolarAid reach 5,081 people, save families £150k, give children 947.4k hours of extra study time, decrease CO2 emissions by 999.6 tonnes and allow 2,467 people to live healthier lives.
Please support SolarAid ( www.solar-aid.org) by donating any amount of money that you feel comfortable with so that together, we can create a world where no one is left in the dark.
