Story
Myself and my mum have decided to take part in the YMCA Sleepeasy Sleepout at the Soverign Centre on the 6th March for Homlessness. Homelessness has always been a very close cause to our hearts as it is a position we feel we could not even fathom the awfulness of. The difficulty and devastation that comes from homelessness is so sad and heartwrenching to see out on so many of our streets in the UK today. Its absolutely rife and it makes us both apprieciate our homes and beds each and every night.
'Im so excited to take part in this fundraiser as Ive always wanted to do something to help the homeless and here I can try to feel a tiny amount of what its like to be in their shoes. Ive always been very passionate about this cause and even from a very young age, often giving my £2 pocket money from my nan to homeless people in London as we walked by. My nan had a real passion for homeless people too which she really instilled in me.' Pascale
'On the 6th of March 2020 my daughter and I are going to take one night out of our world to sleep rough and raise money and an awareness to help young homeless people in surrey. I have always had a god given passion for the homeless in prayer and now have the opportunity to do something practical to help these young people.
I’m very grateful that I have a place to call home and a bed to sleep in.' Jane
