On the 8th June I will embark on a 26 mile Trek of the South Devon coast to hopefully raise a little bit of money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

55 million people worldwide are suffering from Dementia with 60% of these cases categorised as Alzheimers. All over the world families are dealing with the reality and impact this has on day to day life and we are one of those families.

The reality for me is watching my beautiful capable Dad lose control bit by bit, day by day. The reality for my incredible Mum is impossible to put in to words. We are some of the luckier ones in that we can live a flexible life to accomodate whats happening and we still get to laugh a lot and spend time together (hence the choice of photo!!!!) but many families are not so fortunate so raising money to fund research is so important.

I am joining three of my uni friends who are also families affected and we will take on the trek together armed with snacks and blister plasters! Hopefully the sun will shine!!!
