Story

Hi, I'm Ash, and I'm running a half marathon to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This cause is very close to my heart, and I’m dedicating this run to the memory of those I’ve lost and in hope for a future where no one else has to experience the pain of losing a loved one to cancer.

When I was a kid, I lost my best friend ,my grandma to cancer. She was my rock, and losing her left a deep mark on my heart. Those losses, especially at such a young age, were incredibly difficult to process, and I’ve carried that pain with me throughout my life. Losing someone you love is never easy, but cancer makes it even harder because of how quickly it can take someone away. That’s why I’ve decided to run this half marathon not just as a personal challenge, but to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and help ensure that future generations don’t have to suffer the same heartbreak.

Cancer research has come a long way, but there is still so much work to be done. The more we can contribute to this cause, the closer we get to finding better treatments, and ultimately, a cure. I’m hoping that through my run and your support, we can make a real difference in the fight against cancer.

Every step I take is in honor of my grandma and for those still fighting. Together, we can help make sure no one else has to lose their loved ones to cancer.
