Story
When I was in middle school, by a stroke of random luck, I spent a week at Camp Menogyn, canoeing in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota. It changed my life. From there I developed a love of the outdoors and went on progressively longer trips, culminating in a 42-day whitewater canoeing trip in Alberta, Canada. These experiences transformed me -- boosting my confidence, helping me develop critical teamwork skills, and expanding my worldview.
YMCA Camp Menogyn believes that every young person deserves the chance to discover themselves through wilderness adventure. Nestled at the edge of the Boundary Waters, Menogyn offers transformative canoeing and backpacking expeditions that build confidence, leadership, and community. We ask for your support to ensure that these experiences are available to all.
In 2025, Menogyn awarded more than $120,000 in scholarships to ensure no camper was turned away from their program. They also relied on the generous support of the community to provide essential gear for our groups and critical training to support the leaders on our seasonal staff team. Your gift supports not only the future campers of Menogyn, but also the next generation of adventurers, conservationists, and community leaders.
