We are a small York based charity supporting grassroots organisations that put children at the heart of their work.

Since 1990, Children in Distress has stood alongside children facing hardship, providing care, education, and hope for brighter futures. For over three decades, we’ve been able to empower thousands of children and their families thanks to the generosity of our supporters.

Now, we’re building on that legacy and bringing our focus closer to home. By funding projects across the UK, we can respond to today’s challenges, helping young people develop the resilience, skills, and confidence they need to thrive in a fast changing world.

This shift is not about leaving the past behind, but about growing into the future: using our experience, our passion, and the support of our community to make an even greater impact for children here in the UK.
