Collaboration's fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society

Collaboration Network is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Team: CN Charity Walk 2026 - SOUTH EAST

“Yearly fundraiser for our charity of choice”
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Collaboration Network - Vulnerability Week Charity Walk 2026 & Year of Fundraising

In June 2026, eight groups of walkers will set off simultaneously across the UK - from the South East to Northern Ireland, from Scotland to Wales - each covering 12.3 miles on the same day, for the same cause. Together, we'll walk 98.2 miles: one mile for every 10,000 people living with dementia in the UK.

Our national fundraising target for the walk is £9,820 - one pound for every 100 people living with dementia right now. Every penny goes directly to the Alzheimer's Society.

But the Charity Walk is just one part of our commitment. Throughout 2026, the Collaboration Network is proud to be raising funds for Alzheimer's Society through a series of initiatives - including Vulnerability Week events, regional gatherings, and our annual Awards Ceremony. Because this cause deserves more than one day.

Right now, there are an estimated 982,000 people living with dementia in the UK - and more than a third of them do not have a diagnosis. That number is expected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040. The cost of dementia to the UK is already forecast at £42 billion in 2024, rising to £90 billion by 2040.

Behind those numbers are families navigating one of the most overwhelming experiences of their lives. 63% of the total cost of dementia is borne by patients and their families themselves - and 70% of unpaid carers report that their mental or physical health has been negatively affected. A 2025 survey found that 1 in 5 people with dementia have not received any health and care support at all.

Alzheimer's Society is a vital lifeline for everyone affected. From the moment of diagnosis, they provide personalised support, fund vital research, and campaign for a world where people living with dementia are treated with the dignity and care they deserve. Dementia is the UK's biggest killer - claiming over 76,000 lives in 2024 alone. The scale of what's needed is enormous. But so is the community of people who refuse to look away.

That's why we walk. That's why we fundraise. And that's why, this year, we're taking it to every corner of the UK.
