Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. For those of you that don’t know my full story. Here you go!
I was born on the 19th November 1996 in Norfolk and Norwich at 7:05am, I was then taken to GOSH (Great Ormand Street Hospital) with suspected TGA. On arrival the diagnosis was confirmed and the performed a balloon angioplasty to help the flow of oxygen. I then came back to the N&N a couple of days later and was tube fed, my mum was trained to feed me so I could be at home for a few days before my surgery.
My open heart surgery was preformed on the 3rd of December by “Marc R. De Leval” (RIP my saviour) and my schedule was wrote on a bit of blue tissue paper. My operation was only supposed to be 4 hours long, but due to them being unable to get me off my heart bypass it was 5 and a half hour. After my operation I spent 9 days in intensive care and came home after 13 day. I was a month old and 1lb lighter than I was at birth.
I had a heart monitor on during High School and when I was 20/21 I went in for a MRI so they could see how my heart coped under stress. I had this MRI because ever since my OP I have always have a slight leak from one of my valves. I now go every other year to see my doctor.😊
For as long as I can remember I have always had a very normal life, I went to school and passed my exams (just), got my first job, passed my car and motorbike test, just like anyone else!
This challenge holds a very special place in my heart, and after recently falling in love with running I thought it would give it a shot. I haven’t set any sort of goal to raise, as I believe that anything is better than nothing!
