Story
Convoy4Ukraine was formed to fund the purchase of pickup trucks and ambulances as well as medical and humanitarian aid which is then driven to Ukraine by volunteers.
The next convoy will leave for Ukraine on the 13th of February 2026. just short of the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion by Russia.
Myself and Jonathan Baines as the two co-drivers will pay all our own costs (fuel, ferry, food, accommodation to get there and hopefully air tickets home. We have to raise £9,000 to buy and service a pickup truck and a further £9,000 to fill it with the medical and humanitarian supplies requested by the Charity’s contacts in Ukraine.
The trucks will be left in Ukraine as close to the front line as is sensible for the evacuation of the injured and those impacted by war. If we manage to raise between us more than £18,000, Convoy4Ukraine will buy additional trucks and deliver more aid.
The team leading the February trip have been undertaking this operation for the last three years have raised over £1,350,00 and delivered 85 pickups filled with aid, an ambulance, a minibus and an ATV
Some two years ago I sent my jeep, see gallery, complete with its AA sticker to Ukraine but sadly was unable to drive it there. I am not expecting to be reunited with it but i did think at the the time that it would look very cool cruising down the Kings Road.
