"Inspire Sussex" and "Wheels for All" are Teaming Up for a Fantastic Fundraising Adventure and share the funds generated by the fundraising event. Our shared fundraising goal is to create an inclusive event for individuals of all abilities.

This is an unmissable opportunity for everyone—families & friends, young and eldery, charity teams, business groups, and absolutely anyone up for the challenge—to come together for an epic day of cycling, community, and fun!

The goal? Each group or individual will push themselves to complete 50 laps, all working together to beat last year's incredible 500-mile record! Whether you're riding solo, as a family, or with a team, every single lap counts towards the grand total.

The final distance will remain a mystery until the big reveal at the end of the event! Take your best guess at how many miles we’ve conquered, and you could walk away with an amazing prize!

About the Charities:

Inspire Sussex– are all about human shaped care, making a difference to the lives of those with a learning disability for over 70 years. Formally Eastbourne & District Mencap, their mission is to protect and promote individuals' rights to live safe, quality-filled lives. The Inspire Sussex team listen to what people tell them about their lives. Listening not only to the words spoken but also to various other communication methods, which enables them to achieve a more precise understanding and enhances their residents' abilities to take control of their lives. They believe every person is unique, and they celebrate that uniqueness.

Wheels for All –

Wheels for all embraces people with disabilities, differing needs and those that would otherwise not be able to cycle by providing a fun and friendly activity.

Eastbourne Wheels for all, based at the Eastbourne Cycling Centre, provides a range of specially adapted cycles, which means that anyone can experience the feeling of freedom, the breeze on their face, and the sense of achievement that comes with inclusive cycling. We have a fantastic facility incorporating the athletics track and a trackside clubroom offering refreshments and dry area throughout the year. All Wheels for all activity is delivered and developed by the East Sussex Bikeability team supported by trusted volunteers.

Why we do It?

The funds raised during this event will be dedicated to a primary two objectives:

1) Enhancing Opportunities at the INSPIRE Sussex Social Hub & Purchasing a Much-Needed Minibus

The funds raised will greatly enhance the INSPIRE Sussex Social Hub, transforming it into a vibrant and inclusive space for individuals with learning disabilities in Eastbourne. This initiative aims to improve their quality of life by providing essential amenities such as dining chairs, gardening and craft equipment, cooking and baking supplies, furniture, computers, and a projector for film screenings. Additionally, we are raising funds to purchase a minibus, ensuring greater accessibility and opportunities for people with learning disabilities to engage in social activities, attend events, and become active members of the community.

2) Supporting the Eastbourne Wheels 4 All Cycling Centre:

Eastbourne Wheels for All will use all funds raised to purchase specially adapted cycles and enabling more people with learning disabilities to access and enjoy the facilities. These adapted bikes will give more people the chance to ride and enjoy cycling in a safe and inclusive environment.

Some of these bikes will even be in use and on display during the event day, so you can see firsthand the difference your support makes!
