Story
On the 3rd of July 2023 my number one supporter and the funniest woman I’ve ever met, my Grandma lost her battle to cancer, after previously battling twice before she never failed to light up a room and gave all her energy to loving our family. She was my biggest inspiration and one of the woman I look up to most in life.
Her last wish was to receive palliative care at Kirkwood Hospice a place that treat her with so much care and love till her last breath. The support the team gave our family from the hugs and informative conversations to the phone calls days after her passing I will never be able to thank them enough. I feel honoured to have the chance to help this amazing organisation and the ability throughout training and the 13miles on the day to feel the proud spirit that Grandma never failed to show me with the 5,864 days that I was blessed with her presence.
She never failed to teach me Harry, Archie Oliver and Lily the meaning of doing something we enjoy most in life and being able to do this for you is one of the greatest accomplishments I could achieve.
So please if able donate to this amazing charity and support me in finishing the Great North Run on the 8th September 2024.
A donation of £50 could pay for specialist counselling support for a patient and their family.
£100 could provide vital support to a patient in their own home from one of The Kirkwood Nurses.
The Kirkwood are here to support anyone affected by a life limiting illness, every step of the way. Right now, over 3,000 people in Kirklees are living with an illness from which they will not recover. Your support means the world and i will forever be grateful for your generosity.
Thank you Flora x
