Story
Anyone who knows me and Nicole will know last year was the hardest year of our lives so far.
Nicole’s mum Sharon was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called CJD and sadly passed away aged 55.
Sharon was a wonderful lady who was unfortunately taken far too soon. She always made me feel at home and we shared many a laugh with her great sense of humour. As well as the huge loss to Sharons family it felt like I’d lost part of my own.
Sometimes it is good to try and do something positive out of a terrible situation. This is why we are trying to raise funds for a CJD charity to help with treatment and support for future cases. As CJD is a rare and unfortunate disease the funding isn’t as readily available. Although rare, this disease can affect anybody.
A group of us are going to walk up a fairly challenging route up Snowden in Sharons memory. Absolutely anyone is welcome. If anyone could donate whatever they can spare it would be really appreciated and we will see you at the top of snowden👍
Support us to find a cure for Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD). There is currently no cure but every day scientists and doctors are getting closer to finding a treatment. We aim to raise funds to support the use of an antibody drug developed for the treatment of patients with CJD. The first patient was treated at UCLH in October 2018.
