I will be running my first half marathon, The Farnborough Winter Half on the 21st January to raise money for The Grace O'Malley Kumar Foundation.

On the 13th June Grace tragically lost her life in an unprovoked attack in Nottingham. The Grace O'Malley Kumar Foundation has been set up in loving memory of Grace and to allow her legacy to live throughout all of us.

I had the pleasure of meeting Grace whilst at university both being members of the Nottingham Hockey club. The first time our paths crossed was whilst Grace was wearing a full Greggs themed tracksuit as a fancy dress outfit, wearing it proudly and smiling. Although fascinated by her outfit of choice, I had yet to learn her kind hearted nature and her ability to bring happiness to others. Grace was a bundle of positive energy to everyone around her always smiling and always including everyone. Every time I saw Grace she was smiling and happy which made her such a joyous person to be around. This is what made her such a dear friend to so many and why this tragic event has been so hard to comprehend.

Although I only knew Grace a year and my conversations were limited to 10 or 12, it was obvious in this short time why she had so many people who loved her, and why this tragic event has impacted so many.

Although I am not a runner, I wanted to try my best to show some love to Grace's family and anyone that had the great pleasure of knowing Grace.
