5K Sponsored Dog Walk - Sunday 16th November, 10:00 am

Jackie Fieldus is raising money for Samson Centre for MS

Dog walk · 16 November 2025

This is a wonderful way to help us raise vital funds for the Samson Centre for MS. Over flat ground, this 5K route finishes at the Jolly Farmer, Worplesdon, where we can reward our dogs with treats for all of their fundraising efforts!

Story

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. More than 130,000 people in the UK have MS, and most are in their thirties, forties and fifties, although MS is not uncommon in people in their mid to late twenties.

MS symptoms are different for everyone. Physical symptoms often include loss of balance, stiffness and speech problems, while other symptoms can include fatigue, pain, and problems with mental health and memory. For many people, MS gradually gets worse over time and people find they need more and more support.

There is no cure for MS, but there are lots of different treatments and alternative therapies available which help relieve symptoms. These include exercise, physiotherapy and oxygen therapy, which are all available at the Samson Centre.

Ruby will be walking/running 5k with other Samson dogs to raise money to support ongoing charitable funding for the Centre.

She would be really grateful if you could spare a couple of quid to encourage her with this mammoth task 🤪 All money raised goes to Samson to help with raising the annual £450k required to keep the centre going.

Ruby will be supported by her mum and dad who will bribe her with treats if the going gets tough
