Story
FGM is practiced by about 68% of the Maasai families in Narok South and Narok North district. The World Health Organization has established that FGM is the leading cause for difficulties and complications that often lead to the death of women during childbirth. Despite this revelation, many girls are currently still being forced into FGM. Similarly, the girls in Maasailand are being forced into early marriages to men that they do not know, and who are often much older than they are. These marriages are mostly planned and enforced by parents.
This year we will be completing a four-year project with Mission With A Vision (MWV). Most of the work remaining is internal and we approximate the total cost to about 6000 pounds.
