I am raising funds for a refuge run by the Womens Development centre in Kandy. This is to help girls who have suffered gender based violence. In April 2024 I went out to help the girls improve their weaving skills, having sent out 13 looms in April 2020, at the start of lockdown. "Their Future Today" is a charity in the UK which is providing a large portion of funding to the WDC.

In February 2025 I went out again to help improve their weaving and find outlets for some of the items they produce. It would be great to raise much needed funds for the girls. They need even the basics as sometimes they do not have the funds to buy groceries.

The refuge is a happy place where the girls get an opportunity to break free of the life inflicted upon them. If you can donate anything it will really help these lovely girls.

I would love to post pictures of the girls, but they are in a secret location for their own protection and anything on social media may lead to their abusers finding them.
