Story
Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
Rowan Marriott:
"In January 2024 my son Jack was diagnosed with AML Leukaemia.
In August 2024 Jack came through a successful bone marrow transplant. He is the most resilient person I’ve ever met!
There is nothing I can do to truly show my appreciation to those that saved Jacks life, however, I did promise to run a mile for everyday that Jack spent the night in hospital. And so, on 31st May 2025 I will run 150 miles… in one go…
First off I will run the Manchester Ultra Loop race, 12 hours running laps of a 400m running track 9am – 9pm.
I’ll then continue to run 9pm-9am running between Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Manchester Children’s Hospital and many roads and lanes in between.
At 9am on 1st June I invite and encourage as many people as possible to join me, virtually to ‘Run As Far As You Can’ raising money for Cure Leukaemia and to help me reach my goal of raising at least £20,000
For Jack and all of the other children that have battled with blood cancer, my run will be insignificant compared to what they have been through but this is dedicated to them… join me…."
