We will be joined by others also raising funds for the Hospice in the early morning as we leave together in a minibus, with the plan to start walking around 10am. We will be climbing the Pyg Track before returning to Retford on the same day.
Selected as our charity of the year, Wright Vigar are supporting local hospices to ensure they can provide valuable continued support to the local area.
The hospice provides specialist care and support for patients, their family and their friends within the local community. It exists to enable patients diagnosed with cancer, or progressive long term conditions to achieve the best quality of life. Each year the charity need to raise a minimum of £350,000 though donations within Bassetlaw to continue to support patients. The charity is responsible for all the day to day running costs of the Hospice, this includes the maintenance and upkeep of the building and gardens, replacement, repair of fixtures, fittings and equipment. The charity funds a range of complementary services and facilities including alternative therapies, hairdressing and patient transport and manages fantastic volunteers.
