Wellness walk · 20 July 2025

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Hi,

I will be walking from Wrexham to Llangollen for Parkinson’s disease in memory of my Grandad Tom. I was originally going to walk from Liverpool to Llangollen, but the route was dangerous at points. My Grandad lived with Parkinson’s for a long period of time and it slowly took a tole on him physically, but he never stopped being his funny self throughout it. It was hard to see a person you love slowly decline. He didn’t let Parkinson’s be what defined him as that wasn’t the person he was. Llangollen is a place he used to take me and my brothers when we were little. So walking a long distance to reach that point will be the best way I can honour him. I miss him more than anything, but doing this will help me and also help others through fundraising. If I could raise some money which could go towards helping someone else then it is all worn while. I wanted to do something that was going to honour him, but also will go towards a good cause. If anyone could donate that would be amazing as I am wanting to raise as much as possible. My best friend Libby has kindly offered to join me on the walk which just shows how lucky I am to have good people around me.

Thank you.
