On 1st April 2021, our son Thomas was born six and a half weeks prematurely. Thomas was cared for on the high dependancy unit before moving to the neonatal special care unit where he spent the first seventeen days of his life. The support we received from the wonderful SSNAP team was invaluable and helped us through a very difficult start to parenthood. Below is a bit more information on this amazing charity.

When newborn babies need specialist, often lifesaving, medical care at birth it can be a traumatic and difficult time for parents and families.

In 2025, SSNAP will be celebrating 43 years of supporting parents and their premature sick babies at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford - providing both emotional and practical support, 365 days a year, being a life-line at a time when parents need us most.

We fund essential medical life-saving equipment, research, provide accommodation so parents can stay on-site with their newborns, and support the amazing NHS staff on the neonatal unit with training and study days, to enable them to continue to provide the very best of care.
