Story
Running 26.2 miles isn’t just a challenge—it’s completely outside my comfort zone! Running isn’t my favourite sport, but in April 2025, I’ll be taking on the London Marathon to support a cause that’s incredibly important to me: Versus Arthritis.
This charity is close to my heart because my wife, Emma, was diagnosed with juvenile chronic rheumatoid arthritis as a child and has lived with this condition for most of her life. Arthritis isn’t just about aches and pains—it’s a relentless condition that impacts every aspect of daily life. Emma’s resilience in the face of these challenges is a constant source of inspiration to me and our son Tom who ran the marathon last year, and I want to do my part to make a difference.
Why Versus Arthritis?
Arthritis affects millions of people in the UK, of all ages. Versus Arthritis is at the forefront of improving life for those with arthritis through:
Pioneering research that’s transforming treatments and bringing us closer to a cure.
Support services that provide advice, tools, and guidance for people to manage their condition and live full lives.
Advocacy work to ensure arthritis is recognized as a serious health condition that deserves attention and funding.
Thanks to research funded by Versus Arthritis, treatment options have improved dramatically, giving people diagnosed today a much brighter future. But there’s still so much more to be done to help millions like Emma live pain-free, active lives.
How You Can Help
Running the marathon is a huge challenge for me, but I’m doing it because I believe in this cause and the work Versus Arthritis does. If you can, please support me by donating to my fundraising page. Every penny raised will go towards life-changing research and support for those living with arthritis.
Thank you so much for your encouragement and generosity—it means the world to Emma, to me, and to everyone facing arthritis every day. Let’s make a difference together! 💙
