Thank you for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page created in loving memory of Pravin Shah.
On 9th November 2025, after a courageous battle with a severe lung infection and sepsis, Pravin passed away on the Intensive Care Unit at Barnet Hospital.
For those who knew Pravin, they will remember how much Aspire Leisure Centre meant to him. Aspire is Europe’s first fully integrated leisure centre for disabled and non-disabled people, and a national charity. After Pravin was medically retired in 2018, Aspire became a second home to him; it was here that he rebuilt his strength, made new friends, and rediscovered joy in movement and community. Because of this, it feels only right that we raise funds for Aspire in Pravin's honour.

In 2018, Pravin faced one of the greatest challenges of his life. Having spent over 5 months in hospital, he was diagnosed with a rare illness that left him unable to use his hands and feet. Many would have lost hope but not Pravin; with extraordinary determination, he taught himself to walk again and, regained most of the functionality in his hands. Even after being medically retired, he refused to let his disability define him. He returned to the things he loved; occasionally working, going to the gym, and even relearning to drive.
Pravin was a social, charismatic man, someone who could light up a room simply by walking into it. His warm smile, can-do attitude, intelligence, and infectious energy made him unforgettable.
Pravin leaves behind a legacy that will carry on through the generations he inspired; a legacy of resilience, kindness, and unwavering determination.
All donations made through this page will go directly towards classes and specialist gym equipment at Aspire Leisure Centre, helping support disabled people in their journey to rebuild strength, confidence, and independence - just as Pravin did.
