Story
On Tuesday 1st August the Swim Skills squad at The City of Liverpool SC will be taking part in a sponsored swim in order to raise awareness of Mental Health and Suicide. As well as in remembrance of my beautiful Cousin Zoe who took her own life at the age of 18. The swimmers will be challenged to complete 5000m in 2 hours.
I hope that we can raise awareness on the importance of speaking out and seeking help if struggling and never being ashamed or scared. We should be speaking about our mental health as openly as we do with our physical health. Let’s all take a step in the right direction to normalise this during this occasion. It’s so important that our younger generation understand that it’s ok to not be ok sometimes and that they can talk about it if they ever felt that way.
