We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

We recently found out that Emma has Stage 4 Follicular Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and will be starting a six month treatment programme at the beginning of September. Whilst it is a very worrying time for us, we are optimistic that the treatment will be successful allowing Emma to live a full life with the condition in remission.

As a family, this is not our first experience of a blood cancer, having lost my dear father to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2018. That year, I had been planning to do the first LSEG ride but backed out of the ride to care for Dad and I did none of the subsequent rides as I was caring for my mother.

For the 2023 event we are doing Raid Pyrenees which will see us ride across the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. In doing so, we will cover over 750km and over 16000m of ascent in under 100hours. Having trained for the ride since February, Emma and I have decided that I should go ahead with the event as it also gives an opportunity to raise much needed funds for Blood Cancer UK.

We really value your support and please give anything you can for the charity

With love & thanks

Andrew, Emma, Charlie & Finley xx
